What is the Purpose, Concept and Context?
Cradle to Cradle: Remaking the Way We Make Things's whole concept revolves itself around the nation of the environment and saving it. The book takes its name from the old saying cradle to grave but instead is a change on this of which sums up the whole theory of the book; Cradle to Cradle. The book calls for a total change of how to do things in the modern age and more specifically in the industry. Its whole ethos surrounds itself around the fact that in the modern era we design products and follow the mantra of "reduce reuse recycle" which immediately plans for the face that it will be used and then down cycled into something else to a point where it can't be used any more and then becomes redundant, this book suggest that instead of planning to down cycle maybe we should instead take on a cradle to cradle method when designing, creating products with the end goal being that it isn't down cycled just to save the planet but it is designed with the fact that it can be up cycled in the end. The book surrounds itself around the two authors theory of "Lifecycle Development" which says that end the end of their life materials can either become "biological nutrients" of which are nutrients of which can re-enter the environment and "biological nutrients" of which are materials of which will remain in the closed loop of the industry by always being used again and again.
