OUGD505 - SB2 - Cause Research - Initial Ideas

For the initial stage of the whole brief/project the first stage is to make the decision as to what aspect of social, political or ethical change we will be basing the whole project from, including the first research based part and the second practical side to the project. This notion of change will be applied to one cause specifically, of which we have the option to choose for ourselves. This cause they we will be campaigning for in some way will have to pay homage to the history of the cause itself but will also need to be relevant in modern day 21st century issues related to the cause and so this is a crucial aspect that will be necessary in the decision of cause.

To start the idea generation stage initially the prospective causes outline were split in to two main categories, the first of these being causes of which I believe are causes that are very worth fighting for based on their ethical standings. This was very easy as there are many causes of which stand up for very important ethical standpoints as the topic of their views I feel is important and necessary.  Although this was very easy to outline due to the importance of the causes, out of the list there wasn't very many causes of which I had much interest in and this could deter and diminish the design output of the project. This interest in to the cause is very necessary due to the fact that there is a large research based half of the project and this interest in to the topic itself will make this much easier.

After rationalising the prior statement the decision was made that instead of going with any of the aspects outlines in the first stage, it would be much more beneficial to the development of the project to outline areas of which I have interest in and then from this adapt my interests in to causes that fall within these sectors of interest. As with this interest in the cause the masses of research required for the project will be much easier.
