The next point of research is not one in to a magazine that links directly to my final outcome, but instead in to a designer who encapsulates the urban youth aesthetic that is desired for the final resolution of this project. Eric Haze in an artist and graphic designer who had massive notoriety within the New York urban youth scene between the 1970's and 1980's. His art started out within the graffiti culture and then transcribed within other different art forms such as the music and art industries with the rise of his popularity. Appropriately Haze is very famous for many different aspects such as his work within album artwork design for very big and influential Hip-Hop music and record labels and even within Hip-Hop fashion through the designers for urban streetwear brands such as Stussy.
His work revolves mostly around the gritty and youthful urban aesthetic normally related to Hip-Hop music and Graffiti youth culture, and inspiration from his work will be took, and implemented in the design stage through various graffiti style illustrations. Haze's graffiti background combined with his graphic design teaching creates the perfect aesthetic appropriately for the publication part of the project, creating a modern but urban overall aesthetic.
