After explaining my concept and rationale for design decision my peers offered feedback on the avenues the the design process should continue. The main aspect of feed back that was brilliant to hear was that the design decision that lead to layout and formatting of the images and typography were very successful as everyone outlined that the grid system and other aspects had worked together to create a well structured and organised design, implementing the professional aesthetic desired within the design. The second aspect of feedback that was very impressive to hear was that through the design decision the power of photography within Hip-Hop culture editorial had been encapsulated through the design, the choice of imagery used within the publication perfectly embodied to personality within the content, creating this modern and urban contrast.
Some further feedback centred around aspects that needed improving to finalise the magazine were firstly that although the imagery within the publication did convey the emotion within the content, the contrast within the publication of the old and new wasn't as evident as it should be and therefore this would need improving to create the perfect contrast. It was suggested that this would be achieved by the addition of graffiti aspects and lettering that I had outlined I was yet to complete but had suggest and so this would be necessary in finalising the publication.
The final aspect of feedback suggested was centre around the fact it had already been outlined in the feedback session that I was having trouble in designing the cover of the publication as the type variations attempted didn't reflect the content or purpose of the magazine. It was suggest that Instead of acting like the publication was a single one off book on the topic chosen, instead It would maybe make the process easier If instead the publication was to branded as the first issue in a series of books all centred around the expansion a certain music genre, allowing me much more variety with how the cover could be designed like a quarterly magazine.
