After the digital designing stage I showed the image above in a large group feedback session and got a mixed range of results. The majority of the results were very positive towards the designs that I had made as my fellow classmates believed that the logos simple but rough around the edges illustrative style accurately represented the ethos' of Tratar Bicycles such as their caring and warming nature, the eco-friendly side of the company and finally the bespoke and custom nature of what they offer.
On the other hand there was also some negative comments made about the designs also. The first of these is the fact that the even though the illustration work well to sell the family run see of the business the overly chilling nature of the scenic drawings and some of the shield and crest shapes takes away from the professionalism of the logo design a and therefore doesn't accurately represent the care and quality put in to even bicycle frame that Tratar handcart with care and attention to sure to highest quality they can in every product and so this takes away from the way that the logo represents the company.
The final aspect mentioned was the coloured examples on the right hand side of the development ideas. They outlines that even though they colours stay away from the over corporate intentions that are naturally displayed through a plain black simple logo and that accurately represent the links that Tratar Bicycles have with nature and their minimal eco-friendly carbon footprint that the colours that I have experimented with may be hard to see against a wooden product and therefore could actually hinder the product and so the balance between colour based on concept and colour based on legibility is a crucial balance that I must iron out in the design.
The final verdict form the group was due to its simple yet effective nature, and its non over-complication through minimal vector work and appropriate use of typography that the choice of the design I should take further in to the final stage of the project is the logo in the bottom left of the image above.
