OUGD504 Studio Brief 04 - Final Alternative Format Designs

In the designing stage of the mobile and alternative format designs I ensured that the overall visual aesthetics and attributes remained in the mobile designs in order to keep and create consistency between the web and other formats but with all of the aspects rearranged to ensure that they work and are compatible with mobile formats. The pages like the home screen, the music page and the tour page were kept almost the same as the web designs but some changes had to be made to the other pages to make them more accessible and user friendly for the viewers. For example sue to the nature of the fact on the mobile formats the scrolling capabilities were limited the images and video sections were adapted in to two different pages instead but similarities still remained form the original site such as the horizontal and vatical scroll like actions on the paged but instead these be touch screen finger swipe automations instead. In the web designs I managed to include the user-engaged facility of the customisable language to keep the mobile format similar to the website.

Due to the nature of mobile sites viewed on mobile and tablet formats not usually including a header navigation system this is where the major design change had to be included. Instead of the aforementioned the mobile format version of the website included a pop up navigation system in which a small menu icon displayed in red to keep it aesthetically similar to the rest of the design is selected and from which a small menu style banner would open. The banner was set upon an opaque white box meaning it could be overlayyed over any of the pages that the user may be on, but also a drop shadow was included in order to help distinguish this from the main page. This pop up menu included a series of small vector icons in which each one represented a different page of the mobile site, these were coloured yellow to create visual similarity.
