OUGD504 Studio Brief 03 - Book Concept Decision

The whole contextual basis of the book will revolve round Leeds and more importantly neon signage used in leeds and the historical links that Leeds has with neon, As one of the biggest cities producing neon in Europe this all came down to the past of neon signage in Leeds and its origins as the biggest UK producer of neon in the 1940's. The book instead on concentrating on the more tacky and cliche side to neon lettering will instead concentrate on the more historical and iconic side to neon signage. This combined with a clean and modern aesthetic will create what I believe to be a very interesting and visually stunning publication. The emphasis will be put on ensuring a balance between the modern clean aesthetic and the natural nature conveyed from neon signage
