Next after looking at a lot of forms of imagery in the prior maples of research whether that be through the photography and photo manipulation to the use of expressive and abstract illustration it was now time to look at a much more straight forward and bold approach namely the use of strong typography to convey the important information. The sample of research in which this appears is in the design for this Jazz FM compilation album by Matt Willey in which instead of using imagery to convey meaning of the album he instead concentrated on a forthright approach in which the importance of the album, Jazz as a genre and the people who have contributed to the album and what it is all about which doesn't require imagery.
The implementation of bold and in your face typography accurately represents Jazz as a genre and what it entails, while still remaining very visually pleasing and eye-catching through the implementation of well informed and implemented typography. This typography complimented with a neutral and classy white black and gold colour scheme round off the whole design making it a very successful and effective way to summarise an album on the cover without the use of imagery.
